A social-media developer is suing reality show celebrity Kim Kardashian West and her company, Kimsaprincess Inc., over a series of emojis and images.
In a suit filed Tuesday in the federal court in Oklahoma City, the developer alleges he and a team collaborated with Kardashian to create emjois relating to the celebrity, as well as designs and merchandising. They’re claiming that Kardashian did not share the profits on the trademarked emoji line; the emojis now include dozens of icons and are printed on various items of merchandise, like t-shirts, flip-flops and more.
Kardashian said she filed the “Kimoji” trademark herself to spare App Social the cost, according to the lawsuit. But the contention comes as the group claim they decided to split the profits of “Kimoji,” with only 40 per cent to Kardashian West.
