Lindsay B. Allen (Washington, D.C.) is a member of the Trademark, Copyright, Internet & Advertising practice. Her practice covers the full breadth of trademark and copyright law, including trademark clearance, counseling, prosecution, portfolio management, and enforcement matters as well as copyright counseling, protection, and enforcement strategies. A trusted counselor to clients of all sizes, Lindsay has experience with a wide range of industries such as entertainment, sports, social media, consumer products, technology, finance, pharmaceuticals, politics, and higher education.
Elise Edlin (San Francisco) is a member of the Patent Litigation practice. Elise focuses on complex intellectual property (IP) litigation in federal courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). She partners with a variety of clients across a range of technology areas—from technology to life sciences—including networking, semiconductors, telephony, medical devices, drug treatments, and fluorescent proteins. In addition to technical subject matter, Elise has extensive experience litigating damages, including for standardized technologies with fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory (FRAND) requirements. She has also represented pro bono clients in matters including veterans’ appeals, asylum hearings, and civil rights litigation.
Sarah E. Fowler (Palo Alto) is a member of the Patent Litigation practice. She has more than 10 years of experience working on complex patent and trade secret matters, both in district court and in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Sarah has developed particular depth in cases involving digital rights management, device authentication, streaming media, video game technology, network security, and enterprise data warehousing. She has significant trial experience and a track record of securing early victories for her clients.
Han Saem (Sam) Hong (Seattle) is a member of the Patent Prosecution practice. Sam has experience with domestic and foreign patent prosecution along with patent and market mapping. He is familiar with various hardware technologies, including semiconductor wafer and packaging, memory devices, system-on-a-chip (SOC), consumer devices, telecommunication systems, and medical devices. Sam’s experience also extends to software technologies.
Andrew (Andy) T. Pettit (Austin, Palo Alto) is a member of the Patent Prosecution practice. Andy’s practice focuses on patent and trademark procurement, strategic analysis—including infringement analysis, enforcement analysis, and portfolio valuation—and intellectual property (IP) counseling. He represents clients ranging from multinational corporations to individual entrepreneurs and startups. Andy has experience across a broad range of technological areas, including medical devices, medical instrumentation (including imaging, sequencing, and diagnostic technologies), artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), predictive analytics, and consumer electronic devices.
Courtney M. Prochnow, Ph.D. (Los Angeles) is a member of the Intellectual Property practice. Trained as a molecular and structural biologist, Courtney focuses her practice on patent litigation, strategic patent portfolio management, and patent prosecution in the life sciences industry. She has represented clients in federal courts, including in Hatch-Waxman litigation, and in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Courtney has drafted and prosecuted patents in a variety of technological areas including gene editing (CRISPR/Cas), chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapeutics, small molecule and nucleic acid therapeutics, antibody therapeutics, vaccines, recombinant proteins, genetic diagnostic methods, and chemical synthesis.
