Mewburn Ellis announces move to state-of-the-art green headquarters

LONDON – Intellectual Property firm Mewburn Ellis has today announced the relocation of its London office to landmark eco-friendly City Tower 8 Bishopsgate, marking the firm’s next step on its journey to minimize its environmental impact and build a more sustainable future.

The firm’s new London office building is the tallest commercial building to have an “A” Energy Performance Certificate and has also been ranked ‘Outstanding’ on the BREEAM scale, the highest certification achievable. BREEAM is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading sustainability assessment methods for infrastructure due to its scientifically based sustainability measures, which cover a range of environmental issues.

Powered entirely by renewable electricity and meeting 60% of its annual heating needs by recycling heat rejected from its cooling system, the firm’s new London office building sets new standards for sustainability.

The building also boasts 30% less structural carbon than the London tall buildings benchmark and the highest solar panels in London.

Mewburn Ellis has taken significant steps to reduce its environmental impact through its award-winning sustainability program. Last year, it became the first intellectual property firm to receive the prestigious EcoVadis Platinum Medal, placing it in the top 1% of all companies assessed worldwide. The firm also achieved a CDP score ‘B’ – the highest score achievable for an SME – highlighting the work done by the firm’s Sustainability Collaboration Group to advance its progress to achieve net zero by 2050.
