Barnes & Thornburg has announced five key appointments to its nationally recognized Intellectual Property Department, reinforcing the firm’s ability to help clients protect, enforce, and leverage its most valuable assets across the country.

  • Amy Fix – Life Sciences Patent Prosecution Practice Unit Leader
  • Brian Jarman – Engineering Patent Prosecution Practice Unit Leader
  • Mark Nelson – Patent Litigation Practice Unit Leader
  • Patrick Gallagher – Trademark and Copyright Practice Unit Leader
  • John Cullis – IP Litigation Practice Unit Leader.

“These appointments really build on the strength of our national IP practice,” said Scott Simmonds, chair of B&T’s Intellectual Property Department. “With more than 120 IP lawyers and professionals – including over 75 registered patent attorneys and agents – we’re ready to help our clients tackle complex IP issues and turn their innovations into real business results.”

B&T’s IP team represents clients in innovation-driven industries across life sciences, engineering, AI, data privacy, and brand protection. The new leaders will further align the department’s deep technical and industry knowledge with the firm’s national platform, ensuring clients benefit from a collaborative approach that turns intellectual property into a driver of innovation and business growth.
