June 20, 2025 – Buchalter is pleased to announce that Noel Cook has joined the firm as a Shareholder in the San Francisco office. Cook is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group and focuses his practice on trademark and copyright enforcement, litigation, counseling, prosecution, and licensing.
“Noel is a wonderful addition to our nationally recognized Intellectual Property group,” said Adam Bass, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buchalter. “He brings complementary experience and a stellar reputation in both trademark and copyright law that will integrate seamlessly into and expand our existing capabilities.”
Cook advises clients on the protection and enforcement of trademarks, designs, images, and a wide range of creative content. His work spans multiple industries, including retail and outdoor goods, technology, furniture and product design, character merchandising, music, and food and beverage.
“Buchalter’s national platform and highly recognized IP practice were major draws for me,” said Cook. “The firm’s resources and reputation will allow me to expand the services I offer to my clients while continuing to grow my practice.”
A recognized thought leader in the field, Cook currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Copyright Society of the USA and recently completed a term on the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association (INTA). He is also a longtime member of INTA’s Panel of Mediators and a frequent speaker on key issues in trademark and copyright law, including internet infringement, product design protection, and IP damages. In 2017, he co-authored a US Supreme Court amicus brief on behalf of INTA.
“Noel is a fantastic addition to the San Francisco office and the firm’s IP group,” said Matthew Covington, Office Managing Shareholder of Buchalter’s San Francisco office. “His experience in the trademark and copyright space will be a major benefit to our clients and team alike.”
