Honigman announced today that Mary Hyde is rejoining the firm as partner in the Chicago office. Hyde will be a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group within the Intellectual Property Department.

In addition to her litigation work, Hyde represents clients in all types of trademark, marketing and advertising—including social media—and copyright matters. She regularly advises on federal litigation actions for trademark infringement and dilution, trade dress infringement, false advertising, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breach of contract issues.

“As the business world continues to become increasingly digitized, intellectual property and brand protection takes on added importance,” said Jonathan P O’Brien, Ph.D. and chair of Honigman’s Intellectual Property Department. “Mary’s experience will be an immediate boost for our Trademark and Copyright practice and empower the firm to take on even more sophisticated matters. We are thrilled Mary has decided to return to the firm and welcome her back to our Chicago office with open arms.”

Hyde counsels clients on global and domestic brand development and protection through trademark clearance, prosecution, and management. She also represents clients in cease-and-desist efforts and internet enforcement proceedings.

Hyde earned a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. Mary was a partner with the firm for six years and will return to the firm in that role following some dedicated time with her family.
