Hire of Nick Bowie further boosts law firm’s full-service IP offering
London (HQ) – Lewis Silkin LLP today announces the hire of Nick Bowie as Legal Director, the latest expansion to the firm’s market-leading Intellectual Property practice.
Nick joins the firm’s London office as a recognised leader in trademark services, having spent 13 years at specialist IP firm Keltie. A Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, Nick has a wealth of experience in managing and prosecuting UK, European Union and international trade mark and design portfolios and is regularly involved global searching, filing and assignment projects.
In addition to his core IP expertise, Nick brings with him particular experience in digital enforcement, further boosting the firm’s brand development, management and protection capabilities. He has an impressive success rate in domain name complaint proceedings across several jurisdictions and routinely handles detailed online investigations on behalf of clients.
Nick will work within Lewis Silkin’s pre-eminent team from the firm’s London office, advising a number of global clients across the tech, hospitality and media industries.
Nick’s arrival further enhances Lewis Silkin’s IP team, already significantly bolstered in 2021. In January, the firm announced the hires of IP partners David Swain and Antony Craggs and, in February, Neil Parkes also joined the firm as an IP disputes partner. These recent hires follow the appointment of Alex Rushent as IP Tech Consultant in October 2020, and the acquisitions of patent and trade mark attorney firm Ablett & Stebbing in 2019, a market first by a law firm, and of Adslogans, a unique slogan search and resource provider, in 2018.
