PHILADELPHIA – September 24, 2024 – Tamara Carmichael brings a deeply developed legal practice in the media, entertainment, and advertising industries to Saul Ewing in her role as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Her focus is primarily on providing strategic legal advice to clients on advertising and branding initiatives, both when they launch and commercialize new ventures as well as throughout the growth and development of their businesses and brands. She is resident in the firm’s New York office.

Carmichael represents celebrities and creative content owners, focusing on strategic partnerships and intellectual property protection. Her experience includes negotiating talent, licensing, and merchandising opportunities. This includes handling commercial contracts and transactions covering intellectual property, content development, product launches, marketing campaigns, digital assets, and privacy concerns.
Additionally, Carmichael supports individual clients, celebrities, influencers, advertisers, and PR agencies by advising on legal issues connected with talent agreements, social media management, branded entertainment, digital rights, and more. She also guides brand and content development, offering legal advice on trademarks, copyrights, advertising compliance, and publicity.
When disputes arise, Carmichael litigates cases in federal courts and various tribunals, including the US Trademark and Trial Appeal Board and the National Advertising Division.
Serving diverse industries such as consumer and luxury goods, sports, technology, fashion, music, and financial services, Carmichael’s broad experience includes working with start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. She has also served as in-house counsel and clients often look to her serve as their outside general counsel for a wide range of legal needs.

Carmichael earned a JD from University of Miami School of Law and her BA from Stetson University.
