One of the UK’s leading trademark attorneys, who won a legal battle against famous artist Banksy last year, has enjoyed a trio of successes including top rankings and award nominations.

Aaron Wood, part of Blaser Mills Law, which has offices in High Wycombe, Amersham, Rickmansworth, Silverstone and London, has been named number one in the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA)’s ‘Top 10 Practitioners’ for trademark disputes for the second year running and has been listed in the ‘World Trademark Review 1000’ list of leading trademark professionals.

Additionally, Aaron and Blaser Mills Law have been shortlisted in the ‘Practitioner of the Year’ category in the Managing Intellectual Property awards.

Last year Aaron hit the headlines for winning a two-year legal battle against anonymous street artist, Banksy, stripping him of a trademark for one of his most famous artworks.

With more than 20 years of experience in advising businesses on the protection and commercialization of their brands, designs and other IP assets, Aaron has also acted for the likes of clothing company Superdry and several professional athletes, as well as Premier League football clubs Manchester United and Chelsea FC.

Following the announcements, Aaron Wood said: “It’s great news that the department is getting the recognition it deserves.  For some time we’ve been recognized by other specialists as doing great work – so much so that a number of specialist firms send us their trickiest disputes to handle – and the awards and listings reflect the quality and quantity of work we are handling”

Jonathan Lilley, partner and Executive Chairman of Blaser Mills Law, added: “When we appointed Aaron last year, we knew he was one of the very best Intellectual Property lawyers in the country and these achievements simply reaffirm that.

“We would like to congratulate Aaron on his success. The recognition Aaron consistency achieves is testament to his commitment to his practice and the excellent service and advice he delivers for our clients.”
