International law firm Withers has been appointed to represent the UK and Singapore on the Union des Fabricants (UNIFAB)’s College of Experts panel. The panel acts as specialist intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting advisors to UNIFAB’s membership, which consists of a diverse group of international fashion, luxury, and manufacturing brands. UNIFAB was originally formed in 1872 as an industry body to represent the interests of French pharmaceutical businesses.
The Withers teams will be led by partner Richard Penfold in London and special counsel Alvin Lim in Singapore.
Richard comments: “We are thrilled to have been appointed to represent Singapore and the UK for UNIFAB’s incredible group of member businesses. Alongside a comprehensive service to register, protect, and defend the IP of their products and creations, we offer our deep understanding of the conjunction of the fashion and tech sectors. Where a lot of businesses are trying to understand the potential, as well as the risk factors, of AI, the metaverse, and the use of the blockchain in their product management, we can help them cut through the hype to make the right commercial decisions.”
Richard and Alvin are part of the Withers tech team, an international group of specialist lawyers focused on technology, life sciences, and venture capital.
