One of the fastest-growing IP firms in Europe combines with the market leader in Asia to create a truly standout global offering.
London – 22 August 2024 – Rouse, the leading International IP services business, today announces its merger with European IP consultancy firm, aera, as part of its continued expansion in Europe.
One of the fastest-growing IP firms in the region, aera adds critical capability in patents, particularly in the high-growth sectors of life sciences and AI software to the Rouse Group. The Danish-based firm also provides a platform for further expansion in Europe having established offices in Sweden, Germany, Spain, and Norway.
The aera merger represents another milestone in Rouse’s ongoing growth strategy, building upon the recent acquisition of leading IP consultancy Konsert Strategy & IP. With the earlier addition of European IP firm Valea in 2022 and the two recent acquisitions, Rouse is fast establishing itself as a leading player in the European IP market. It can now offer clients a truly integrated full-service IP capability with unique scale and capability across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the key markets of Asia Pacific.
Luke Minford, Chief Executive Officer at Rouse said: “This is a game-changer not just for Rouse but for the IP industry. We’ve been searching for a quality patent firm like aera that is willing to shake things up and do things differently. They have a recipe that is attracting the best quality clients and people, and I’m delighted they’ve chosen to join Rouse. I can’t wait to see what Nicka and his team are capable of with the full backing of the group.”
Nicka Kirstejn, Managing Partner at aera added: “aera has likely been the fastest growing IP firm for years, and with more “fuel” added to our rocketship we will get the necessary speed for our European liftoff. Our clients want a more joined-up service and our vision from day one has been to conquer Europe as a regional leader. With Rouse, this dream will now come true much faster and on a much bigger global scale than we could have envisioned.”
