Fieldfisher is pleased to announce that Thierry van Innis, a highly esteemed intellectual property lawyer, has rejoined the firm as Of Counsel.
Van Innis brings over 40 years of experience in IP matters, having previously been a partner at various international law firms. He first joined Fieldfisher in 2010 along with fellow IP lawyers Stijn Debaene and Hakim Haouideg. After co-founding an IP litigation boutique firm in late 2013, van Innis is now reuniting with his former colleagues at Fieldfisher.
Van Innis has an unparalleled track record in high-profile trademark cases before the CJEU and the Benelux Court of Justice, including the landmark Reprobel judgment on copyright matters. He has been a trusted advisor to leading names in the fashion industry and is the only Belgian lawyer to have received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the World Leaders European IP Awards.
Stijn Debaene, Head of the Intellectual Property practice group in Brussels, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Thierry back to Fieldfisher. Thierry’s exceptional track record in intellectual property law, including his landmark cases and industry accolades, speaks for itself. His return is a testament to our firm’s commitment to excellence, and we look forward to continuing to build on our shared legacy in IP law. Thierry is, without any doubt, one of the sharpest legal minds of the Benelux IP community. It is a real honor for our firm that Thierry has decided to rejoin our team. I am sure that he will contribute to our further success.”
Van Innis added: “I am extremely happy to join again the Fieldfisher IP team and reunite with my friends Stijn and Hakim. I will bring my passion for protecting innovation and creativity to this leading IP team.”
