LONDON – Lewis Silkin recently announced the appointment of Nick Allan as a legal director to lead the firm’s growing practice in interactive entertainment.
Nick is a specialist in computer and video games, especially in commercial transactions in the industry, including developing, publishing and licensing deals. His hire further bolsters Lewis Silkin’s market-leading Media & Entertainment sector expertise.
In addition, Nick has a strong background in intellectual property with extensive experience advising on issues specific to the interactive entertainment industry, such as the use of real-world assets within games. He also has deep knowledge of the various regulatory issues affecting the sector, advising on the likes of the Online Harms Bill, the Children’s Code, age ratings, virtual currencies, loot boxes, collecting societies and e-commerce.
He was recognised this year by the Legal 500 as a “younger lawyer to watch out for” in Media and Entertainment and is active both as a member of the Video Games Bar Association and as a speaker at influential games conferences, including the annual Games Industry Law Summit in Vilnius and the annual Develop conference in Brighton.
